Hi! I’m Christina, and welcome to my yoga YouTube channel, ChriskaYoga! This is a 40 min yoga flow video for complete beginners where I explain the entire sequence in detail. This is a great introduction to yoga and it’s in the style of vinyasa flow. This is a 40 minute yoga flow class for complete beginners; vinyasa flow yoga. All the movement is explained in detail, so if you’ve never done yoga before, this is a great class to start with! You will need a yoga strap (sub with a belt or scarf) and a yoga blanket (sub with a thick towel).
You will begin laying down on the floor on your back. Then we’ll hug our legs in (apanasana) and then do the same with one leg at a time (eka pada apanasana). We will then take a few cat and cow poses, downward facing dog (adho mukha svanasana), a modified sun salutation a (surya namaskara a), a modified sun salutation b (surya namaskasa b) with fierce pose (utkatasana or chair pose) and warrior 1 (virabhadrasana I).
For a standing poses, we will do warrior 2 with some added movement (virabhdrasana II) and then come to a wide leg forward bend (prasarita padottonasana). We will then come back to the floor for a hamstring stretch (supta padangustasana) and supine pigeon pose (thread the needle) before coming to savasana.
