Restorative Yoga at the Wall | 30 Min Practice for Flexibility & Relaxation

Yoga For Relaxation
Today’s video is a 30 minute gentle restorative yoga practice at the wall. Use this time to slow down and calm the nervous system, or to support tired legs and feet. Using the wall is also helpful if you have some physical barriers that limit mobility in seated restorative yoga poses.

During a restorative yoga practice we hold postures in a very passive and receptive way. We settle into a posture and rest in a place where we feel some sensation (our edge), relax the muscles and hold the stretch for anywhere between 2-5 minutes. This puts healthy stress on the tissue which creates circulation and resilience in the joint sites and fascia.

Beyond activating the physical layer of the body, restorative yoga gives us more time to focus on internal practices such as meditation and contemplation.

I hope you enjoy!
