20min Hatha Yoga for Beginners “Moving through Basics” – a truly beginner or foundational yoga practice to help start you on your yoga journey by introducing some basic postures and how to approach them with options.

New to yoga? Try this to get familiarized with basic yoga poses;
Looking for an easy 20 min sequence to start or end your day? Try these postures to help ground the body and calm the mind!

Some postures we will be exploring include:
– Bound Angle or butterfly pose (baddhakonasana) for adducters and thighs
– Seated Head to Knee pose (janu sirsanasa) for hips and hamstring stretch
– Supine Twist for spine
– Garland Pose (malasana) for hips and ankles … and more!

Props are optional but suggested to help make the poses more accessible and prep the body for a safe and sustained yoga practice.

Prop suggestions:
– 1 Strap (option to use a scarf, belt, or towel)
– 1 to 2 Blocks (option to use some books…got that old encyclopedia or textbook lying around. Here’s a chance to upcycle it)

Have fun in your yoga practice. Always remember to listen to your body during each session. Yoga instructions are meant to be a guidance and not prescriptive movement. So please, move with care!
