I’m Morgan, the Ashtanga Nurse. When I started practicing yoga, especially ashtanga yoga it was all a push for the next asana (pose) at the expense of student’s movable joints. Hence A LOT of soft tissue injuries. Being a nurse, I know the benefits of daily exercise on cardiovascular and mental health, but at what cost?
Since 2016 I have been the primary Ashtanga Yoga Mysore Instructor at YogaWorks in Santa Monica, CA teaching daily Mysore classes, and more importantly teaching students to OWN their practice. I love teaching students who are new to the Ashtanga practice, teaching them how to effectively modify the practice to work for their bodies. As a nurse, I also love teaching the practice to students recovering from; cancer, strokes, broken bones, and other medical issues, adapting the Ashtanga Yoga Practice to meet their needs.
