This 60 minute intermediate yin yoga for back pain class has the best yin yoga sequence to relieve your back pain. Did you know that 90-95% of all back pain is non-specific? That is there are no muscular or skeletal causes for the back pain itself? Only 1% of back pain is made up of spinal issues such as herniated discs and 5-10% of back pain is caused by compression that results in numbness, pain or tingling such as sciatica.
This class will deal with the biopsychosocial conditions that contribute to the back pain that almost everybody will experience at some point in their lives. Basically the stress and anxiety that we experience in our work, family and social lives causes us to hold tension in our body which results in very real back pain. This yin yoga class for back pain will not only relieve your back pain but also give you the mindfulness tools to be present to intense sensations so that when those stressful sensations arise you will know how to be with them and release the tension from your body through practices like yin yoga.
Props Needed: Yoga Strap, Blankets, Meditation Cushion, Yoga Blocks, Bolster
Yin Yoga Postures/Yin Yoga Sequence: Centering, Reclining Leg Stretch, Bananasana, Sphinx, Dragon, Squat, Twisted Root, Savasana
