I am sharing with all the importance of yoga for women esp when they enter menopause years.As the saying goes, “don’t regret getting older, it is a privilege denied to many. The truth is to age honestly, gracefully and intelligently”.
As all of us know, Osteoporosis is a condition where the body loses its bone density, especially for women above the age of 50 years and going through menopause, the drop in the estrogens hormone leads to rapid and significant loss of bone mass which further is prone to risk of fractures. Hence it is important for women to take care and deal with osteoporosis.
I have tried out various ways, but have come to the conclusion that practising yoga is the best way forward. The following yogasanas have helped me to improve the bone density to a great extent. The postures that are against the gravity are more effective in stimulating the bone formation.
With regular practice of yoga, I have improved my strength, flexibility, balance, endurance and overall energy level. I sincerely recommend all the women to pursue yoga for combating osteoporosis. Please adopt proper breathing pattern while doing the postures for optimum results.
